The journey into a spa experience starts with water
Spa waters are “the element” that has brought the Montegrotto area its worldwide renown. They are the oldest, most precious and highly therapeutic feature of our territory. Discovered in Roman times, they have always been a part of the lives of those who have come and continue to come to this part of the Euganean Hills.
From the lakes in the Lessini Mountains, this water flows underground through calcareous rocks, at depths of 2,000-3,000 metres, where it is enriched with health-giving mineral salts.
At the spring, the water flows out at 87°C and is used at this temperature for maturing biothermal mud and, cooled to a constant temperature of 33°/37°C, for the pools.
This crystal clear treasure from nature is everywhere at the Grand Hotel Terme & Spa: our pools, hydromassage tubs, and showers … all use the same hyperthermal water, rich in sodium, bromine, iodine and also potassium, magnesium and silicon.
Almost magic: this water has the power to cure, do you good, and help with many different pathologies.
The action of the mineral substances and the temperature of the water produce natural relaxation of the muscles and a considerable reduction in pain, new vigour for joints and better general functioning of the body, highly indicated in post-trauma rehabilitation.
It improves bruising, lesions and inflammation and stimulate the immune system. Thermal water is also a cure-all for problems affecting the respiratory tract when used in inhalation therapies.
Sustainability is the keyword: hyperthermal water helps to reduce atmospheric pollution because its heat is used to heat homes and hotels. Real zero impact on the local area, bringing only benefits for people and the environment.
