Thermal treatments
Unique in its field

The secret of the mud therapy practised at the Euganean Thermal baths lies in the water which comes from the pre-Alpine basins and resurfaces in the region of Montegrotto Terme at a temperature of 87°C, enriched with minerals.
Unparalleled for its salt, bromine and iodine properties, this water is the basis for the development, preservation and renewal of thermal mud, a process which is regularly monitored by the University of Padua and the “Pietro d'Abano” centre for thermal studies.
Our qualified team of thermal specialists, physiotherapists and sport science specialists like to take a holistic approach to treating ailments, viewing the individual as a whole rather than looking at a single symptom.
As for our thermal treatments, they are the perfect remedy, treating and preventing neck pain, rheumatism, arthritis, osteoporosis, the after-effects of fractures and metabolic illnesses, even in young adults. To optimise their therapeutic properties, the thermal mud should be thick and creamy to the touch.
Grand Hotel Terme is unique to the entire thermal spa region as treatments are carried out in your room. After an appointment with the hotel’s medical director, the treatment can begin: mud is applied to the area being treated, followed by a shower and thermal bath at a temperature of around 37°C, allowing roughly 30 minutes for the perspiration reaction in the relaxing comfort of your own room.
This is followed by a stimulatory massage (carried out by masseurs qualified to regional level) designed to activate peripheral circulation.
Inhalation treatments represent another very important medical aspect. They are excellent for treating illnesses such as colds and those linked to airborne pollutants.
These treatments are carried out using special devices which help transport the thermal water’s active ingredients to the upper respiratory tract and respiratory system.
